Nashi Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 yogurt
  • 1 packet vanilla
  • 5 Nashi – sliced

Topping

  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 3 tbsp melted butter
  • 3/4 cup flour

Method

Beat sugar and butter.  Add egg.  Add yogurt, then flour, baking powder and vanilla.  Grease either a rectangle (approximately 8 x 5 inch) baking tin or an 8 inch round pie dish.  Spread mixture in the dish.  Spread the sliced Nashi evenly. Mix all topping ingredients together and sprinkle on top of Nashi.  Bake at 175 degrees for 30-45 minutes until the top is golden brown.
